[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”8px”][vc_column_text css=””]British Steel France Rail sas, a leading rail manufacturer and supplier to the most important international railway networks, turned to us to find a solution that would allow them to deliver rails to Italy without having to suffer the downtime due to unloading times at construction sites.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”red-text”]<\/p>\n

THE SOLUTION<\/h5>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”8px”][vc_column_text css=””]In close collaboration with the Customer, it was decided to build a new plant at the Lecco \u2013 Maggianico railway yard, suitable for unloading and stacking rails of 108 ml in length. In this way, British Steel can deliver the rails to a single intermediate point and free up its railway wagons which can be immediately sent back to the production plant in France. At the Lecco \u2013 Maggianico yard, the rails are unloaded, classified and shipped throughout Italy, where they are used for maintenance work on the railway network.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”red-text”]<\/p>\n

THE PLANT<\/h5>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”8px”][vc_column_text css=””]The construction of the new logistics platform required an investment of 600 thousand euros. It extends over 110 meters in length and 12 meters in width. Nine overhead cranes operate there, supplied and installed by a leading company in the sector, Bonfanti s.r.l.: the cranes installed are able to move in a synchronized and automated way, all coordinated by the work and supervision of suitably trained and qualified Professionals. The plant has a stacking capacity of approximately 3,700 tons.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”red-text”]<\/p>\n

THE RESULTS<\/h5>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”8px”][vc_column_text css=””]The creation of an intermediate logistics platform has allowed British Steel to significantly reduce unloading times, increasing the quality of the service and allowing the production of rails to be planned and managed, counting on certain times for the return of the wagons. Since its inauguration on March 31, 2018 in the presence of the Authorities, the plant has already allowed the sorting of over 60,000 tons of rails. By facing and winning a completely new challenge, Brambilla Scalo s.r.l. has been able to significantly expand the range of its offering and strengthen the strategic importance of the Lecco railway station for the entire territory.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”100px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column]
